He thinks it was an excellent opportunity to work with other fellow Ikebana artists at the Japan Creative Centre Singapore.

Herman considers the plants as his partners performing together, rather than elements for creating a piece of artwork. He spends much time observing and appreciating different features of varying plants in nature. Herman’s recent series of floral art photography has been a rewarding journey working with eucalyptus, which are native to Australia. The Chinese literati painting style that is reflected in his work evokes the feeling deep in his heart. Herman’s floral art photography is a unique form of art which expresses his relationship with nature and his appreciation of different culture experience.
