REI MINOAHRA-STARKE is a Japanese born jeweller & metalsmith now working from her studio in Perth, Western Australia.

Rei graduated with a Bachelor of Science of Arts at Joshibi University of Art and Design in Tokyo, along with Museum Curator Certification and Art Teacher Certification. Since moving to Australia Rei has also completed the Advanced Diploma of Jewellery and Object Design at Central Institute of Technology in Perth, Western Australia.

Drawing on Japanese childhood stories and memories, and her discoveries and reflections in Australia, Rei designs and creates unique contemporary pieces that reflect her journey.

She is inspired by the quiet beauty of nature, particularly organic forms, patterns and rhythm, and makes pieces using silver, sometimes gold, along with raw stones and gems, to create subtle forms that reflect the space and light and shadows of the natural world.

Rei is dedicated to making body adornments and objects for those who seek pieces of singular beauty. Each piece will tell the story of the person who wears it.
