Sachie Terasaki

Sachie Terasaki is a qualified Ikebana teacher in Canberra. Sachie first started Ikebana in 1994 in Tokyo, Japan. She received a teaching qualification from the Japan Sogetsu Ikebana School in 2000. Since then, she has exhibited her works in Japan, the Philippines and Australia.

Currently, she runs regular Ikebana classes in Canberra. She also conducts demonstrations and workshops at public events as well as local schools. Her demonstrations have won plaudits at major events such as Floriade and the Canberra Nara Candle Festival.

Sachie was born in Tokyo. She was brought up in Tokyo and has lived in the Philippines, Melbourne, and currently Canberra. Ikebana has been part of her life since her childhood. Her late grandmother was an Ikebana teacher and her mother is a passionate gardener. Her Ikebana works show appreciation for every aspect of nature, from spring to winter. She is passionate about expressing the beauty of nature through her works and making people feel closer to Ikebana.
